“Dr. Doug”, as I’m known on the airwaves, is a man of a wide variety of interests outside of the modeling world. I obtained my doctorate degree in natural health a few years ago and have worked to help many individuals as a personal health and fitness life coach. Upon graduating from Central Connecticut State University (B.S. in biology/secondary education- 1999; M.S. in biology-2000), I began to get more involved in the arts. I have been on stage singing, performing in film, television, commercials, theatrical performances, and doing voiceovers for many years.
Currently, I am a middle school science teacher in Simsbury, Connecticut, at Henry James Memorial School, a talk radio host for “The Dr. Doug Show” on the Quiet Time radio network, and an author of a health and fitness book, Top Ten Tips For Tip Top Shape. I will be releasing my second book that focuses on child guidance and parenting in the summer of 2009.

I am a member of the International Professional Speakers Bureau and have traveled across the nation speaking to adults and children at schools, hospitals, athletic banquets, Boy Scout meetings, for parents and various institutions and places of employment.
I was fortunate to meet up with John Mitchell in Los Angeles while I was doing some public speaking events across the LA Unified District speaking to children and adults providing education on how to cope with challenges in our society. Our two locations for the shoot were excellent choices: The Joshua Tree out in the desert in close proximity to Palm Springs and Griffith Park, which is one of the largest urban parks in North America. Working with John was an excellent experience! His professionalism and outgoing personality make the time spent worthwhile.
