Hi my name is John Quinlan, I was born in Winchester, Massachusetts. I played baseball for Melrose High School and participated in the baseball program during the first half of my Freshman year of college at Saint Leo University. I transferred to Springfield College at the start of my Sophomore year to focus more on health & fitness. I began power lifting at this time and entered a few local bench press competitions where I placed 1st for my age and weight class.
In 1998, I began competitive bodybuilding and won a few shows in the Junior Class. While I was training I participated in fitness photo shoots for catalogs and calendars.
I entered Killer Kowalski's Professional Wrestling School early in 1999. I had the honor of being trained as a professional wrestler by the WWF legend himself, Walter "Killer" Kowalski. I became great friends with Walter, what an amazing human being! He told me he was a vegan and the last time he had a piece of meat was in 1953 after Roger Banister ran the 4:00 minute mile! That is what I call dedication to health and wellness! I thank God everyday for giving me the privileges of being a student and friend of the late great original villain of professional wrestling, Killer Kowalski. You will never be forgotten!
As a pro wrestler I used the stage names, Alex Bagwell, John Bagwell, Joseph Bagwell, Shane O'Kane and my real name John Quinlan. I was a two-time professional wrestling champion, holding the IIXtreme Heavyweight & Hardcore Championship belts. I modeled for the Boston sports drink Energy Bomb and was used as an art model for artists & illustrators literature and print work. I was also trained by my friend, WWE Hall of Famer Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and performed on professional wrestling cards along side legends Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, Mr. USA Tony Atlas, King Kong Bundy, Tito Santana, The Honky Tonk Man and Jacques Rougeau.
Over the years I have actively participated in various fitness and modeling related projects that I continue with to this very day. I am a competitive fitness and muscle model which gives me a great sense of accomplishment and has also allowed me the opportunity to meet so many new people and build friendships that will last a lifetime!
I have been involved in the fitness world for over 22 years and I have worked with a lot of photographers. John Mitchell is one of the best, if not the greatest photographer, I have ever worked with. He has a God given talent like no other to really take the very best professional fitness and muscle model photographs. He shoots in some of the most beautiful locations I have ever seen and is a consummate professional and a person I am honored to call my friend.
I highly recommend anybody in the modeling or fitness business who wants the very best photos to enhance their portfolio to set up a photoshoot with John Mitchell.
Thanks for all the great photos John, you're the best!
