Staying athletic and active has been the lifestyle that I have chosen to live by. My name is John Carter from Los Angeles, California. I’m 21 years old, majoring in Business Entrepreneurship & Sports Marketing as my minor. Since a young age I’ve always been into sports and very athletic. My entire family is really athletic and I guess you can say I followed their steps. I’ve been in the fitness industry for about three years now and to say the least it has become a passion and a lifestyle. There is not a better than feeling than waking up and head straight to the gym to get a nice work out.

My Fitness career started when I had the “scrawny” look, weighing only 130 pounds with no muscle or definition what so ever, the reason why I stayed that way is because I ran track through High School and didn’t want to pack up on weight because that would slow me down, not only did I ran track but I was a swimmer, played baseball and football. I also achieved my black belt in Karate at the age of 13 when I traveled to Denver for the World Championships, in which I placed first place in my overall division. Recently after I graduated High School, I decided to start focusing on my physique and take my body to another level. I got my first gym membership and that’s where it all started. From spending 2-3 hours at the gym to focusing on my diet and eating habits. Months after, I started to see results, as my body developed shaping to a great physique. After 6-8 months of intense training and diet I reached my goal weight at that time of 160, I was shredded and had my abs showing the way I wanted to.

I submitted my transformation to BodyBuilding.com and a week later I was nominated “Transformation of the Month” which it was an honor because many of submissions were placed at the same time I submitted mine. My dedication and hard work in the industry paid off when shortly after Bodybuilding.com featured me, I approached World Physique Magazine to tell my story and inspire others. I was one of the columnist writers under the “Self Improvement Column” writing articles about nutrition, work out plans, different work out methods, how to avoid injuries, etc. The feedback I received from the readers and viewers was outstanding.

Furthermore, I started to do interviews with different fitness magazines & websites. Throughout that time I got to meet the GREAT John of bbpics.com, I didn’t know what to expect, but I was just hoping for the best. We scheduled my first photo shoot and the professionalism from him left me speechless. We captured some great shots and people loved it, weeks after I was published on the “Summer Issue” of World Physique, as one of the photos from the shoot with John was used in the issue.
John is an amazing photographer and person, he will make it fun and make you feel comfortable throughout the shoot, keep in mind that I have worked with John Mitchell 4 times already and we will continue to work together. John has an open minded personality that will do anything to get that “Money Shot” even when the sun is about set, making sure that everything is going right. We have been best of friends since the first time we met; it is truly a pleasure to work with such a great photographer and person, who is currently involved on promoting me, getting me reorganizations and most of all get exposure in the industry. His photography speaks by itself and the best I’ve seen. I recommend anyone that is looking to get some great shots and exposure in the industry.
