Since the first time I picked up a weight at 12-years old, working out has been an addiction that I absolutely crave. I’m forever looking for new challenges and new ways to push myself in the workout realm. My style is to set a goal, reach it and move on. I think many people stick with what they’re good at but I’m more of the belief that you should be well rounded. Have your areas of expertise but open your mind to other possibilities and styles and your body will always continue to improve. I am currently a certified personal trainer in the Tampa Bay area. Personal training is an exciting career to me because I get to watch my clients transform. Even though the physical transformation is always what they’re trying to reach, the most exciting part is seeing the psychological transformation that comes along with it. To see someone so overjoyed from losing the weight they’ve struggled with for years or to see a kid finally start to gain muscle after never thinking it was possible changes their psyche to such an extent that it can be mind bowing.
I live a very healthy lifestyle and truly live what I preach. I am proud to say that I always keep my body fat percentage at fewer than 5% by totally natural means and don't even use general supplementation beyond probiotics. My tricks of the trade to staying in shape are eating healthy and planning ahead, which I believe produce results above all else. As my friends and colleagues can attest to, I am rarely seen ingesting anything other than meats and vegetables. I steer far away from standard bodybuilding nutritional protocols and actually eat about 40-50% of my daily calories from fat. EATING FAT HELPS YOU TO BOOST YOUR TESTOSTERONE LEVELS NATURALLY! On a health note, I used to eat the standard food guide pyramid BS diet and had a cholesterol reading of 315 at 22 years old. I did some non-conventional learning about nutrition and switched to fatty steaks, pork chops, ribs, etc. & veggies and just cut out the grains and voila, down to 185 and haven’t had it rise to unhealthy levels ever since. Don’t believe everything you hear just because you know it as standard advice.
I grew up in rural Iowa and spent my younger years enjoying the outdoors and keeping myself fit both in and out of the weight room. One thing Iowa has is lots of space to enjoy the outdoors. I’m very happy to have had that as a child and still enjoy it when I go back to visit. After college, I moved to my current home in St. Petersburg, Florida and now spend my outdoor time at the beach instead of the farm but still have similar interests. It is my passion and desire to continue improving myself and my body on ongoing basis and to help do the same others along the way.
I'm just getting into the modeling industry and have high hopes of achievements. As a newbie, John has been a very big help in teaching me how to pose and train my body in order to capture the best images. Although I had done a bodybuilding show before ever doing a shoot with John, I truly didn’t know how to flex my abs to make them really stand out until after our first shoot. John was very professional and fun to work with and an exceptional photographer that's always open to suggestions and opportunities. I have now done two shoots with John Mitchell and hope to do many more. The way he uses the natural sunlight to capture the natural cuts of the body is unmatched. On my second shoot we were also able to spend some time improving my portfolio with some fashion shots which also turned out great! The group of models he brought together on our first shoot in Phoenix was a great group of guys that were all very willing to help and provided a fun environment. I definitely feel I developed a whole new group of friends over the weekend shoot and received connections that will benefit me both personally and professionally for the long haul.
