The Interview
(JOHN): It's been an incredible pleasure and priviledge
to work with Cedric. He's an incredible bodybuilder and a great guy and
some of the images we've achieved are among the best work I've done.
Cedric is really pleased to be featured at Real Gainz. Here's an interview
with this talented athlete.
(JOHN): How long have you been working
out and when did you get started? Who was your inspiration in your earlier
life to get into the gym?
(CEDRIC): I have been working out serious
for the past 8 years. I got started around middle school between the ages
of 15-16. I set the "pound for pound" bench press record in eighth grade.
From that day forward I knew I had a gift of strength. My inspiration was
my uncle Carlos. He would bring me along with him to the gym every day. As
a youngster I was first intimidated. There was nobody my age at the
facility. Through observing the proper techniques, asking questions, and
following safety precautions I started to become more at ease. After a few
months of training I truly loved working out.
(JOHN): Did you play
sports in high school? Did you workout during your high school years? List
the sports you played in high school.
(CEDRIC): Throughout high
school I was a double sport athlete. I played football and baseball. I
realized working out would have to become a part of my life, because of
the competitiveness in these two sports. The skills in becoming bigger,
faster, and stronger were imbedded in my mind and heart.
(JOHN):
Briefly describe your workout/diet regiment. What do you do during a
typical week in the gym? Do you take supplements?
(CEDRIC): My
workout regimen changes every 4-6 weeks. My body adapts quickly to
specific workouts, thus having me to change up the routine often. A
typical week at the gym would consist of Monday chest workout, Tuesday
back, Wednesday Quads, Thursday shoulders, Friday biceps, triceps, and
forearms and Saturday hamstrings. I also incorporate abdominals and calf's
ever other day. My diet regiment usually depends on what season I am in. I
eat clean throughout the week and give myself a cheat meal once per week,
usually on a Sunday afternoon. My supplements are pretty basic. I use
animal paks, bcaa's, amino acids, and a pure whey protein.
(JOHN):
What are some of your outside interests/hobbies outside of the gym?
Favorite foods, music, movies, TV, magazines?

(JOHN): Where do you see yourself say
in 5 years from now? Do you plan on doing any bodybuilding
shows?
(CEDRIC): In five years I see myself personal training
individuals to reach their goals and satisfactions. Spreading my knowledge
in the important aspects of physical fitness is what I intend to do. I'm
also thinking about graduate school. I also have big plans for my
bodybuilding career in the future. I plan on competing in April of
2007.
(JOHN): How do you compare my photos from other previous
photo shoots you may have had with me?
(CEDRIC): John is a good
friend of mine and you definitely know how to photograph specific
individuals. You have great experience in different locations and
landscapes. You are also very professional and understands the goals of
your clients. My best experiences in a photo shoot have been with, you,
John Mitchell. Through our photo shoots I have encountered and become
friends with many of your cliental.
(JOHN): How was the whole
weekend photoshoot experience with me? Would you recommend me to others
trying to build a fitness/fashion modeling portfolio?
(CEDRIC):
John, you showed me great hospitality the weekend of our photo shoot. You
understand if a person is on a specific diet regimen. You allow your
clients to use your kitchen to cook and prepare meals throughout the photo
shoot. I would recommend, you, Mr. John Mitchell to any one who has goals
in developing a fitness/fashion portfolio.
(JOHN): Lastly, how
would you describe yourself as an individual? Why do you think you will
succeed in this fitness modeling/bodybuilding business?
(CEDRIC):
Hard work, dedication, and determination will best describe me as an
individual. I set achievable goals and when I reach them I set more. I
never settle for less and I put 110% effort in whatever I do. I believe my
ethics in hard work and dedication will lead to success in the fitness
modeling and bodybuilding business. My first bodybuilding contest was
October of 2005. It was a USBF all natural show in Seekonk, MA. I entered
the junior's class and the men's open light heavyweight class. I placed
1st in both classes. My next show came in May of 2006. I entered the
Musclemania show in East Haven, CT. I entered the junior's class and
placed 3rd out of 33 contestants.
(JOHN): It has been a pleasure
having this interview with you. We wish you luck and hope you will come
back and give us an update as they come. Happy Holidays everyone!
