Hello my name is Cedric Carvalho. I am currently a student at Fitchburg State College located in Fitchburg, Ma. My major is Exercise Science and Sport Nutrition. I'm 22 years old and I'm entering my senior year. My hobbies consist of weight lifting, hiking, swimming, and biking. I am looking forward in pursuing my goals and dreams in the bodybuilding and fitness modeling industry. I grew up in Fall River, Ma. I have always been an athlete throughout my life. I played pop-warner football as a youth and continued through high school and college. I attended B.M.C. Durfee High School located in Fall River. My senior year I broke 1,000 yards which hasn't been accomplished since 1992. I was a nominee at the Otto Graham Award. This award was given to the best student athlete out of 17 schools around the district. I also made the BIG 3 Conference All-Star Team. I received MVP award and all scholastic because I played baseball as well. I have been lifting weights since I was in 8th grade. I got the idea of lifting weights because as an 8th grader I benched 225lbs. when I weighted 135lbs. My gym teacher was pretty impressed and began talking to me about lifting. I didn't get to serious until I entered my junior year of high school. I knew I had a gift playing football. I was the fastest and strongest athlete on my team. "In order to become the best you must train hard and want it bad enough," this is a quote I live by. It wasn't until a few years ago when I started to learn how to diet and eat proper nutrition. I began hitting the gym harder as the years went by. I became good friends with professional bodybuilders and fitness models. Joseph Angel a good friend of mine introduced me into the fitness modeling industry. Mr. Angel made it into Exercise Men magazine and was named Mr. Fitness. One day Joseph asked me if I was interested in doing a photo shoot with a close friend of his. I really wasn't into taking pictures. But I ended up giving in and said "yea I'll do it." Probably one of the best decisions I made in a while because, I ended up having a great shoot but most important I met a very successful photographer/Business man John Mitchell. John is a great guy and very professional. I recommend John to any fitness models that are pursuing a goal. I didn't know what to expect from John because I didn't talk to him prior to my first shoot. I worked with John in a Gym located in Peabody, Ma. A typical week in the gym consists of Monday I'll do a chest work out. I usually do 3 hard chest workouts like an incline press, flat bench press, and a hammer strength machine. Then I'll use dumbbell fly to stretch the pectoral major. Tuesday is leg day I usually do a free weight squat, then 3 sets of a hack squat then some leg extensions. I also like to do some lunges. Wednesday I'll train back. Thursday I'll train shoulders. Friday is a complete biceps, triceps, forearms, and calf. Saturday I usually go in and train hamstrings. I train the abdominals every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I also like to do cardiovascular workouts only during the summer unless I'm doing some photo shoots during the winter. Cardiovascular days consist of 40 minutes on an elliptical machine every other day. There was trouble with the lighting that day but, John did an outstanding job. After the shoot was over I scheduled another shoot down in Connecticut where John lives. That whole week of waiting, training, and dieting for the second shoot paid off. John was speechless when I arrived because I was more shredded than the first shoot so we were both excited. I ate three meals per day consisting of around 50 grams of carbohydrates daily, and around 200 grams of protein. Dieting is definitely the hardest part of training. The weeks are long and tough. Especially when an individual like myself consumes 6 small meals daily. That weekend John took four fitness models including myself and devoted his whole weekend with us. John has great hospitality manners I felt like I was living in my own house that weekend. John is a great person and a good friend and I look forward in seeing him for another shoot. Special Thanks To: Joseph Angel and John Mitchell View
